All whitening must be preceded by a medical examination. The condition for whitening is a healthy oral cavity, for example, there should be no caries or tartar on the surface of the teeth.
It is important to mention that we can only whiten our own teeth, we cannot whiten the color of fillings and crowns with this method, the solution for that is replacement.
In-office teeth whitening
Globe Dental offers the most modern American ZOOM! and a traditional lamp teeth whitening. Your teeth will be 8-10 shades whiter. The special thing about ZOOM teeth whitening material is that it also contains ingredients that can build up tooth enamel, so it is absolutely not harmful. In-office light whitening takes about 1 hour. First, we insert a mouthguard that holds your lips in place. Then, a special gel is placed on your gums to protect them, and then we apply the whitening gel to your teeth, which is illuminated with the office light for 3 x 15 minutes (one treatment, with breaks in between). The light activates the whitening agent in the gel and the results are visible immediately.

Home teeth whitening

The change is also quite visible after the first wear, but the final result can only be seen at the end of the treatment.

What happens in this case?
We remove part of the root filling and place the whitening gel in the tooth, then temporarily seal the tooth. We repeat this several times if necessary until the result is perfect. At the end of the treatment, we place a final filling in the cavity created on the tongue side of the tooth. The tooth may become discolored again over time, in which case it is worth considering porcelain veneers or crowns, which are permanent.

The procedure, including preparation, takes approximately one hour. Preparation is followed by 3×15 minutes of special LED lamp illumination with a wavelength of 480 nm.

In rare cases, some patients may experience increased tooth sensitivity during the procedure, but this will subside within 24-48 hours after treatment. If you generally have sensitive teeth, for example to cold, please inform our doctors, as you may need to undergo sensitivity treatment before whitening.
The durability of the result depends largely on your lifestyle! In the 2-3 days following the treatment, it is not recommended to consume any products containing coloring agents (coffee, tea, cola, red wine), otherwise the effectiveness of the procedure cannot be guaranteed! If you drink coffee or tea several times a day, it is recommended to undergo a color maintenance treatment (with a night guard) 1-2 times a year, which only takes one or two days.
If your teeth are completely healthy and free of tartar, no further treatment is necessary. In many cases, oral hygiene treatment precedes teeth whitening: tartar removal, polishing.
If there are old fillings or replacements in the whitened area, their color will appear much darker after whitening, so they will need to be replaced at the end of the treatment.
